ENG 101: “The Ethics of Immortality” is not just another vampire course. It is a writing-intensive course which uses existing debates and contexts to theorize an ethics of immortality as novice writers evolve into critical thinkers and productive members of discourse communities. The course examines a variety of texts showcasing a variety of rhetorical moves, and allows students to evaluate the efficacy of “evidence” as it is used and produced in various situations. Although published work will form a foundation here, the texts produced by the students will be the most important to our inquiry.
